Die Säge, ein kleiner Weiler etwas außerhalb von Fontanella, ist ein idealer Ausgangs-punkt für viele Unternehmungen.
Zu Fuß kommt man in 30 Minuten zu einem zauberhaften Badesee, dem Seewaldsee, der viele Monate hindurch zum Schwimmen einlädt.
Von der Haustür aus kann man direkt loswandern zu den "Hausbergen" Zafernhorn oder Blasenka.
Von Faschina oder Damüls aus (jeweils 15 Minuten mit dem Auto oder dem Bus) bieten sich wunderbare kleine und große Touren an. Damüls gehört schon zum Bregenzer Wald.
Auch in den Nebentälern des Großen Walsertals verbergen sich herrliche Orte (Tipp für die schneefreie Zeit: Bad Rotenbrunnen)
Oder man fährt hinunter ins Tal Richtung Bludenz und auf der anderen Seite hinauf ins Brandner Tal - zum Lünersee.
Die Möglichkeiten sind unerschöpflich - im Haus findet ihr viele Tipps und Wanderführer.
Ganz besonders ans Herz legen möchte ich euch das Angebot der "Wanderbusse" - sie bringen euch ohne stundenlange Anstiege recht schnell hinauf in die Höhe, auf wunderbare Almen und Alpen.
Die Säge, a small hamlet just outside Fontanella, is an ideal starting point for many activities.
A 30-minute walk takes you to an enchanting swimming lake, the Seewaldsee, which is perfect for swimming for many months of the year.
From the front door, you can hike directly to the local mountains, the Zafernhorn or Blasenka.
From Faschina or Damüls (15 minutes by car or bus), there are wonderful short and long tours to enjoy. Damüls is already part of the Bregenz Forest.
There are also beautiful places hidden in the side valleys of the Großes Walsertal (tip for the snow-free season: Bad Rotenbrunnen).
Or you can drive down into the valley towards Bludenz and up the other side into the Brandner Valley – to the Lünersee.
The possibilities are endless – you will find lots of tips and hiking guides in the house.
I would particularly like to recommend the ‘hiking buses’ – they take you up to the wonderful alpine pastures and alps quickly, without hours of climbing.
